Quality Assurance
CHeCC has a rigorous audit process to make sure that young people receive a professional, safe and high quality service by:
Ensuring all counsellors meet professional standards:
- have passed a three year post-graduate diploma in counselling
- undertake Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
- comply with the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) code of ethics
- have an up-to-date CRB check (and when the scheme comes in, are registered with the Independent Safeguarding Authority)
- receive required levels of clinical supervision from a suitably-qualified specialist
Ensuring all counselling services achieve high standards:
- child protection, health & safety and data protection legislation is adhered to
- agencies consult with young people on the quality of their service
- services provide opportunities for feedback and complaints
- the impact of each individual's counselling relationship is measured using the Clinical Outcomes through Routine Evaluation (CORE) tool
