Volunteering

Whether a former client wanting to give something back, or a member of the public committed to helping young people, a few hours a week of your time could make a highly valuable contribution to the work of community counselling, for example:

  • Undertaking general administrative tasks or manning a reception desk can provide a valuable service to agencies
  • None of our counselling is provided without another adult being in earshot of the counselling room so that they can respond to any unforeseen situations. Many agencies depend on volunteers to perform this role of safeguarding counsellors and clients.
  • From time to time, some agencies and CHeCC itself need help with running events, undertaking market research or raising funds.
  • CHeCC sometimes needs support in undertaking research or preparing publications
  • If you are a trainee counsellor, some of our agencies will provide work placements.
  • We are always glad of qualified counsellors volunteering their time to provide counselling and help reduce our agencies’ waiting lists
